THE HISTORY OF CLWK
CLWK started as a pilot project in 2010 and was created by nurses to explore innovative ways to meet nurses’ education needs.
The pilot project was successful and the site is a permanent, living resource.
In February 2014 it merged with Patient Safety Quality Council’s QExchange.ca and became part of a growing group of communities that supported British Columbian health care providers to network and improve care.
As of 2022 the CLWK site sits with the British Columbia Professional Practice Stream – Wound Ostomy Continence. Its resources are developed through the following clinical committees:
Provincial Nursing Skin & Wound Committee
Provincial Interprofessional Skin & Wound Committee
Provincial Nursing Ostomy Committee
Provincial Nursing Continence Committee
Provincial Interprofessional Continence Committee
Provincial committee membership is determined by the British Columbia Health Authorities/Yukon Territory and encompasses Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy Continence (NSWOCs), Wound Clinicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Dietitians covering acute, community, long-term and primary care settings.
